Jillian Kravitz
Sophomore Global Health Major
Dance, Natural Science Minor Hometown: Yuma, AZ Career Goal: Jillian's dream is to become a general surgeon for Doctors without Borders in Latin America. She has danced her whole life, having specialized in jazz, tap, hip hop, among other styles. She loves all different styles of music (minus country, *ew*), kayaking, hiking, and spending time with friends. She has a younger brother who she is really close to, and therefore loves the mentoring aspect of KSA alongside volunteering! Other Activities Involved In: KECK P.R.E.P. - Peer Health Exchange (teaching a health curriculum at local high schools in the LA area) What has been the most rewarding part of being a Keck Student? Jillian would say the most rewarding aspect of being a Keck student is being a part of a tight-knit community while also being in a large university (such as USC). To get such a hybrid of the two is super special, and not all the other schools within USC offer such small class sizes, opportunities to meet others, network, and just bond with others in general. What advice would Jillian give to a prospective student?Jillian would say that asking for help is okay, and that the vibe of USC is really crucial to consider when determining if USC is the best school for you. As someone who was unsure of where she wanted to go to college, Jillian was very conflicted with where she wanted to attend, but was able to make her decision rather quickly once she saw how varied students were in interests, dreams, and values. Although it may be difficult to visit at the moment, viewing Youtube videos (sparingly) or reaching out to current students or faculty is extremely helpful when getting a feel for the student population. Being confused is also okay, and feel free to discuss with whomever you feel comfortable with! |
