With a keen interest in patient-centered research, Sameer hopes to practice as a physician-scientist in an academic medical center. If Sameer could solve any health issue, he would choose to solve the access to care disparity. Sameer firmly believes that quality healthcare is a fundamental right that all individuals should be able to access. Issues surrounding access are far too prevalent within society and across the world and are associated with known detrimental health outcomes. Reform is critically needed to ensure quality, affordable, and consistent care for all. Sameer aims to advocate for change and bridge this gap within healthcare systems across the globe. What has been Sameer's favorite Keck class? Sameer's favorite Keck class has been HP 408, Environmental Health in the Community, taught by Professor Ed Avol. The course emphasized the interconnection and impact that one's environmental exposures have on their overall state of health. After taking HP 408, Sameer became more cognizant about the impact his actions have on the environment. Additionally, he learned how to implement small changes to live an overall more sustainable lifestyle. |
