Senior Global Health and Neuroscience Major Hometown: San Diego, CA Career Goal: Zoe is passionate about scientific research and aspires to earn her PhD in an interdisciplinary combination of genomics and epidemiology. Other Activities Involved In: Vermulst Lab Research Assistant ,Hutchins Lab Research Assistant, SC Outfitters Guide, Rock Climbing General Member, Mixed SC General Member What has been Zoe's favorite Keck class and why? Zoe's favorite Keck class was the introductory Global Health course, was HP408, Environmental Health in the Community with Professor Ed Avol. This class was so interesting and relevant to our daily lives. Zoe learned so much about the exposome and how to improved environmental health in her own home and community. What advice would Zoe give to a prospective student? Zoe's advice to prospective student would be to welcome each new possibility and perspective which comes their way. Specifically, she recommends new students to take advantage of USC's great faculty and have at least one personal chat with their professors each semester. College is the perfect place to find what you are most passionate about. By learning from your professor's life experiences and staying open to new fields and possibilities you are more likely to find exactly what you want to pursue as a future career. |
